UPstart Designs is operated by Jarrod McMaugh, who has been working with websites as a hobby since 2003.

UPstart Designs was started to ensure that local business could have access to a local who knew who to create and maintain websites, without having to pay thousands of dollars for design, or be trapped into ongoing maintenance contracts that provide little value.

Webdesign is a relatively new industry; one that many businesses and individuals are still not familiar or comfortable with. There are many pitfalls and mistakes to be made when choosing a web designer. For this reason, I will make these gaurantees:

• If I believe the website you want made is beyond my abilities or more time consuming than I can accomodate, I will tell you, rather than raise your expectations unfairly.
• I will not maintain owndership of your website once it is finished - my clients always own their own site. This is a common trap, and one all businesses should be wary of - just because you pay someone to make a site for your business, does not mean you automatically own that site.
• My prices are extremely competitive - most sites I make would cost less than $1000 to make, including design, standard maintenance, hosting, and domain name.
